Ulysses - James Joyce Though I've read generous excerpts over the years I'd never quite gotten through this work cover to cover, though I might have nodded meaningfully whilst fibbing a few times. Actually, I blame the not so interesting Buck Mulligan.

However, I finally finished reading my falling apart, badly yellowed copy where I scribbled the date I bought it back in ... 1974. My little gray cells are not what they used to be so these days there's always much I miss in reading. But at an earlier time in my life I don't think I would have "gotten" how filled with warmth and humor Ulysses can be. Can't get much more life affirming than "yes I said yes I will Yes."
